Patient Responsibilities

PMK Hospital is committed to providing safe, effective, and high-quality healthcare services. To ensure the best possible care, patients are expected to fulfill the following responsibilities.

1. Provide Accurate Information

Patients are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and up-to-date personal, medical, and insurance information, including medical history, allergies, medications, and previous treatments.

2. Follow Medical Advice

Patients are encouraged to follow the treatment plans, instructions, and recommendations provided by their healthcare professionals and to seek clarification whenever necessary.

3. Attend Scheduled Appointments

Patients should arrive on time for appointments, consultations, diagnostic tests, and procedures. If unable to attend, patients should notify the hospital as early as possible to reschedule or cancel their appointment.

4. Respect Hospital Staff and Other Patients

Patients and their attendants must treat healthcare professionals, staff members, visitors, and other patients with courtesy, dignity, and respect at all times.

5. Comply with Hospital Policies

Patients are required to follow all hospital rules, regulations, safety measures, infection control protocols, and instructions issued by authorized hospital personnel.

6. Ask Questions and Participate in Care

Patients are encouraged to actively participate in their healthcare decisions by asking questions, understanding treatment options, and discussing any concerns with their healthcare providers.

7. Financial Responsibility

Patients are responsible for understanding and fulfilling their financial obligations, including payment of applicable fees, charges, deductibles, and expenses not covered by insurance or third-party payers.

8. Respect Hospital Property

Patients and visitors must use hospital facilities, equipment, and property responsibly and avoid any intentional damage or misuse.

9. Maintain a Safe Environment

Patients should avoid behaviors that may endanger themselves, other patients, visitors, or hospital staff. The possession of illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous materials within hospital premises is strictly prohibited.

10. Inform the Hospital of Changes

Patients should promptly notify the hospital of any changes to their contact information, health status, insurance coverage, or other relevant details that may affect their care.

11. Protect Privacy and Confidentiality

Patients and visitors should respect the privacy and confidentiality of other patients and hospital personnel and refrain from unauthorized photography, recording, or disclosure of personal information.

12. Compliance with Discharge Instructions

Patients are responsible for understanding and following discharge instructions, medication schedules, follow-up appointments, and recommended lifestyle or treatment modifications.

13. Consequences of Non-Compliance

Failure to fulfill these responsibilities may affect the quality, effectiveness, or availability of healthcare services and may result in limitations permitted under applicable laws and hospital policies.

14. Amendments

PMK Hospital reserves the right to revise or update these Patient Responsibilities at any time. Any changes will become effective upon publication through official hospital communication channels.
